What happens when you start looking at a familiar city with photographic eyes?
During this two-day workshop, we will explore the streets of Göttingen with one main goal: to learn how to see differently.
Street photography is not only about being in the right place at the right time. It is about learning to recognise photographs in everyday situations, to notice interesting light, colours, contrasts, gestures, people, shapes, reflections and unexpected moments.
Together, we will photograph the streets of Göttingen and work on the practical skills that can help you create stronger images:
– composition and framing
– light and shadow
– colour and contrast
– observing and anticipating moments
– working with people and spontaneous street portraits
– finding interesting subjects in ordinary places
– approaching the street with greater confidence
– selecting and editing your photographs
Most of the workshop will be spent out on the streets, photographing and experimenting. The aim is not simply to learn a few techniques, but to develop a different way of looking, and to start seeing photographs where you might not have noticed them before.
At the end of the workshop, we will select and edit the images produced during the days together and create a digital photo zine featuring the participants’ photographs.

Was passiert, wenn du anfängst, eine vertraute Stadt mit fotografischen Augen zu sehen?
In diesem zweitägigen Workshop erkunden wir die Straßen Göttingens mit einem gemeinsamen Ziel: anders sehen zu lernen.
Street Photography bedeutet nicht nur, zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort zu sein. Es geht darum, Fotografien in alltäglichen Situationen zu erkennen, interessantes Licht, Farben, Kontraste, Gesten, Menschen, Formen, Spiegelungen und unerwartete Momente wahrzunehmen.
Gemeinsam fotografieren wir in Göttingen und beschäftigen uns ganz praktisch mit den Fähigkeiten, die dir helfen können, stärkere Bilder zu machen:
– Komposition und Bildausschnitt
– Licht und Schatten
– Farbe und Kontrast
– Beobachten und Momente vorausahnen
– Arbeiten mit Menschen und spontane Street Portraits
– interessante Motive an alltäglichen Orten entdecken
– mehr Sicherheit beim Fotografieren auf der Straße
– Auswahl und Bearbeitung deiner Fotografien
Den größten Teil des Workshops verbringen wir draußen auf den Straßen, beim Fotografieren und Ausprobieren. Dabei geht es nicht nur darum, einige fotografische Techniken zu lernen, sondern eine neue Art des Sehens zu entwickeln und anzufangen, Fotografien dort zu erkennen, wo du sie vorher vielleicht nicht bemerkt hast.
Am Ende des Workshops wählen und bearbeiten wir gemeinsam die entstandenen Bilder und gestalten daraus ein digitales Photozine mit den Fotografien der Teilnehmer.
